Forge a Mono Steel Blade

A hands-on full day (8+/- hours) bladesmithing class in the Graber Forge shop focusing on making, from start to finish, a small high carbon steel knife.

We'll discuss shop safety, equipment usage and basic metal-movement principles before forging a blade from available steel, learning the full heat treatment process for that steel, grinding/sanding edge geometry specific to the intended use of the knife, crafting a functional handle, sharpening the blade and testing our work.

There is no set time limit to the class, we go until we finish.

All tools, materials and safety equipment will be provided. The student(s) will leave with their own handmade knife. Contact the shop to schedule.

- Classes can be scheduled 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1

Price is per student 

This class is designed for folks who have never made a knife and are curious about the process and the novice bladesmith who has attempted a few knives already and wants to establish a solid base skillset.
